Upcoming:
Classic Beauty Series
This series will focus on developing the fine art of classic striptease, with glamour and mischief.
You will learn how to be as playful or as intense as you feel, while being a "glorified girl" in burlesque finery.
You'll feel your connection to glamourous ladies throughout history as we discuss the presence of the female form in both visual art and performance.
Because instructor Jo Weldon is the Educational Director of the Burlesque Hall of Fame, you'll be learning directly from a performer who has learned from her forebears, pioneers in the art of being undomesticated, glamourous women!
Class includes Boa, Gloves, Stockings, and 3 DVDs.
You will also make your own pair of rhinestone pasties!
There will also be a shopping assignment which will guide you through New York's amazing garment district, showing you where the pros shop, and discussing how to get the best deals on pricey items like swarovski crystals and ostrich feather fans.
Fan Dance Series!
This four-week series will include your own pair of marabou fans and a copy of Jo Weldon's "Silk and Feathers" DVD.
Week one: The Art of Reveal and Conceal: Marabou Fans
Week two: Working with Air: Silk Veil Fans
Week three: Your Fine Feathered Friends: How to Make Fans (demo)
Week four: The Big Deal: Ostrich Feather Fans

Learn how to make burlesque costumes!
It's the saddest thing! Our big dance mirror got broken. We're trying to raise money to replace it with an unbreakable mirror, but those puppies are expensive, and in the summer we are donating our time and services to The Burlesque Hall of Fame and Coney Island USA, so we're a little strapped! If you'd like to support the school's effort, please use the link below to make a donation. Every little bit helps!

Pinup Workshop!
Week 1: A history of the pin-up. Showing historical and contemporary examples, Dale and Don will give students an overview of the pin-up, including trends in clothing and styling, which go hand-in-hand with the history of pin-up. Students will be given an assignment to gather their favorite pin-up images to bring to the Week 4 class.
Week 2: Getting down to business. Dale and Don will talk about the business aspects of pin-up photography, including how to choose a photographer, how to conduct yourself on a shoot, contracts and legal issues, and how to develop a mutually beneficial relationship between model and photographer, among other topics.
Week 3: Hair and make-up. A guest instructor will break down period hair and make-up for students and give demonstrations on how to achieve the perfect pin-up look.
Week 4: Movement class. After a good stretch, students will feel what it’s like to hold pin-up poses. Images brought in from the first week’s assignment will be used as reference.
Week 5: The shoot! The class culminates in individual photo shoots for each student. Location(s) to be determined. Each student will be sent digital images that they can use as promotional material.
