Classic Moves of Burlesque

If you take only one class, this should be it!
In this three-hour workshop, you will be introduced to burlesque history, come up with a stage name for the day, and get a tips on flirting and seduction! Learn the sexy shimmy,
the tantalizing glove peel,
the devastating bump n grind, and the dazzling tassel-twirl
from an internationally recognized striptease expert
with decades of performing experience.
Many of our former students perform in New York
at prestigious burlesque venues.
You can, too!
Or, you can take a burlesque workshop simply because
the workshop itself is a party!
It's even more fun when you bring a friend!
Boas, gloves, and pasties will be provided to borrow.
This class is for women only.

You'll get the basics of the history of burlesque and striptease as an artform, plus you'll hear plenty of stories of how we learned moves from Legendary performers at the Burlesque Hall of Fame. We'll talk briefly about costuming, getting gigs, the history of burlesque and neo-burlesque, where to see burlesque shows in NYC, and more!

If you are planning to take it with a friend please register both of you at the same time to ensure that you both get in.

We will learn and perform a choreographed number. This is a great way to learn to structure a costume and compose a burlesque number.
